Customer Advocate I - Amarillo, TX

The Customer Advocate I are responsible for: Under supervision, this position is responsible for accurately and completely assisting Members, Providers, Groups and Third Parties with telephone, written, fax, web and email inquiries for one or more lines of business; and processing and documenting follow up items (e.g. send forms, simple adjustments) in a timely manner. Manage self-development plan.

They perform all functions within the high standards of Integrity, Ethics, Compliance and Corporate Citizenship. Each Customer Advocate I is accountable for contributing to excellent levels of quality and productivity on both a team and individual level. Within a high production work environment, our Customer Advocate I perform these and other essential functions:

  • Provide accurate, courteous and complete telephone, fax, and email service to Members, Providers, Groups, Subscribers, Agents and BC/BS Plans and others with eligibility, benefits, claims status, Provider locations, etc.
  • Resolve and document telephone, fax, web, email, follow-up actions and written inquiries accurately, completely and within cycle time.
  • Process less complex financial transactions under direct supervision.

Basic requirements for applying for our Customer Advocate I:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in inbound telephone customer service center, and/or minimum of 2 years in service-oriented position not specifically contact center.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
